Sofware Update 10.5.8 freeze
When I try to update my Apple Software to 10.5.8 the computer freezes while the download is configuring. I tried repair disk permissions and the computer passed. I took out the hard drive and reconnected it to make sure it was properly mounted and It still won't download. A while back somebody dropped my computer and there was no apparent damage. I don't know if that's causing the issue, but I think it might be related. How do I fix this issue??

Try reformating the Drive using Disk Utilities on the second page pull down menu of the system installation disk. Use the "write zeros" option to map out any bad blocks that may have developed of the hard drive preventing a good install. Set the Partition to one to insure it's GUID.
What is your current system? Please tell us about the 10.5 disk you are trying to use; what color is it?
mayer,
Current system is Leopard. I don't have the disk because my brother let me borrow the cd which was the family version that can be installed on multiple computers.
kris,
