Fixing the backlight and Testing the backlight

History

there is no light but the LCD works using a flashlight i can see the LCD i like to know the volts that the backlight needs so i can test the light and is there a way to do this then i can find out if it is the inverter or the cables

there should be a way to feed the backlight with external power

Being able to still see the desktop usually indicates an inverter failure or inverter cable failure. Try moving the screen up and down and see if anything changes. If it does, here's the way to replace it: Installing PowerBook G4 Aluminum 15" 1-1.5 GHz Inverter/Antenna Cables
