The screen say "Empty Grinder" - how do I fix it?

History

The machine seems ready to go- it says "Select shot size" as it normally does- but when I select a size, it starts like it should but makes an odd noise like it can't grind anything. Then it displays the message "Grinder Empty." I've checked both the water and beans and they are full. I've also turned the machine on and off. Help please!

Hi,

sometimes there are small stones in the coffe beans. When a stone gets stuck in the grinder it might happen, that the machine thinks the grinder is empty. The grinder should start grinding even if there are no beans.

Thanks for the help! So should i just try to clean out the beans??

Amber,

Unplug the machine, clean out the beans and take a closer look at the grinder. Read the manual what to do if there is a stone stuck in the grinder. My Jura S70 had a special wrench to turn the grinder backwards in order to get the stone out of the grinder.
