Units will only charge through firewire not USB
Hi
I have several ipod 4th gens that will only charge through fire-wire, and not through USB. They sync through usb, but do not charge. It is like they turned into 3g classics!
Any known solutions?

Try a different USB port, they do not all supply the same power. Try using a high end USB cable.
the only other thing I would like to add to this is that you could have iPods with batteries that are at the end of their lifespan. Usually the higher voltage and amperage supplied by the Firewire connection has the tendency of charging those batteries, USB does not. Of course this only holds true if your computers USB port and cables are working properly....
