boot loop after SSD install and fresh Higher Sierra
Hello,
I just installed MX500 series 500GB SSD on my A1278 - 2351.
I don’t have a back up or original boot disk. I went the the Internet recovery way and that show me High Sierra in the utility. Now, after what seemed like a good install, the computer restarted; apple logo shows up, progress bar fills about an ⅛ of the way then it reboots again, doing it over and over.
Only things I can think of is:
1) the SSD is not compatible
2) high sierra not compatible with this old computer.
What do you guys think?
Update (05/23/2020)
Thank you for the answer. Please check out this link, this shows it is compatible. And I had searched and n the crucial website before purchasing the SSD. Is there a way to make it work with my Macbook or do you think its an error on the crucial website and Ifixit.com?
Is this a good question?

Sorry ;-{
I was aware both Crucial & iFixit have an error! I had reported it to both and still haven't been able to get them to fix their site info.
Here's what I wrote to the iFixit folks: Still listing the wrong SSD drive in older SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) systems. This is the third time I've tried to get this fixed.
Crucial had an older SSD which was SATA II (3.0 Gb/s) for some reason when they dropped it they thought the newer SSD's would still work. Part of the problem is the SATA III drive will appear to work, but as soon as you give it any heavy load the connection fails.
I have yet to get one to work in the older SATA II systems. I've had success in the newer SATA III systems and I do like the drive! It's just simply put, a fixed drive one speed and only that one SATA speed, unlike the Samsung drive.
