How can I repair or replace the bottom case lock latch?

History

The lip on the bottom case lock onto which the hook from the top case latches is broken. It looks like it can't be repaired, but I'm not sure. Perhaps the whole bottom lock case needs to be replaced, if a used part can be found.

Thanks for your help,TommyJames. I think I have found the part (just the bottom latch box). Now I need help taking the old broken one off and putting the functional one in. Are there any instructions on this procedure?

Thank you, meyer. I have uploaded a picture of the damaged bottom latch, which I'm not sure how to replace with a functional one, even if I manage to find a used spare part.

Yup! The whole bottom case will unfortunately have to be replaced if the damage is bad enough. Just search eBay for the parts. :)
