The PowerMac G5 is a desktop computer first produced in 2003 by the Apple Corporation. This guide will review the repair process of an Apple PowerMac G5 model number A1047 EMC 2061 from 2004. It was discontinued in 2006 as part of the Intel switch first to developers then consumers.

no ability to communicate with this drive

Power Mac - Late 2003 - Western Digital Black 1T Hard Drive ( 2019 ) - SATA Hard Drive . Power Mac ( Late 2003 ) had no ability to communicate with this drive as it shipped. With Hard Drive ( label up communication / power connectors down )

it is the ( 3rd set of pins from Right = 2nd set of pins from Left ) I used a

jumper from an old drive no longer in use. This will force the drive to use

the appropriate 1.5 Gb/s Data Transfer Speed/Mode.

Do you currently have a working drive in the machine with a system on it? Do you have the original system installation disk? It will run up to 10.5.8 but no higher.
