Power adapter - multiple choice, please help!

Hi!

My power supply is faulty on my iMac and I need a replacement. The faulty supply inside my 2007 24 inch iMac is a LiteOn PA 3241 02A1.

In my research, it appears that another power supply is also a compatible replacement. A Delta ADP 240 AF B. These seem to have been fitted to the 2008 version of the iMac 24 inch.

Is this the case that either can be used as a replacement for my 2007 iMac?

Thanks for your help!

Apple contracted both companies (Delta & LiteOn) to make power supplies. As long as you get the correct one for this series you’ll be OK. Here’s a good rundown of the Apple P/N’s per each model. This is from PowerbookMedic’s parts listing 250W power supply

Thanks for this information @danj . That’s really useful.

So just to confirm, you mean that any power supply made for the 2007-2009 Intel iMac 24 inch will work fine, it’s just that the Apple product numbers and actual supplies may look a little different? Have I got that correct?

Thanks for your support.

Thank you.

As long as its a 250 Watt unit and has one of the Apple part numbers listed you'll be OK.
