What hard disks are compatible with an iMac Intel 24" EMC 2267?

History

Can I put any 3.5" SATA disk into an iMac Intel 24" EMC 2267, or does this model use the hard disk's builtin temperature monitoring and so need one from the same manufacturer? Will it take a 3TB hard disk? Some sources seem to suggest 2TB is the limit.

Here's an excellent article on upgrading your 2009. It also has links to compatible drives: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/im...

The problem with changing drives is the thermal sensor. If you stay with the same "brand" of drive there should be no problem. If you change brands, you will need to change to that companies sensor. As far as I know there are three different ones, the Western Digital 922-9225, the Seagate 922-9224 and the Hitachi 922-9223

I don't know about about a three TB drive.

Great research +. Unfortunately your link isn't working, can you please recheck it?

remacberlin,

The link is good but EveryMac has been having problems with their server off and on for a week now. I can't even open their home site right now, give it an hour.

mayer,

Link replaced
