ofer, LMGTFY. ;-) Here is a direct quote "The power supply can operate on both 60 Hz and 50 Hz power grids. It uses a standard C14 IEC connector and a C13 power cord appropriate for the region it is being used in. The power supply on the "fat" model is capable of delivering approximately 380 W, although the PS3 has never been measured using this much power. The power supply was reduced to 250 watts in the 120 GB "Slim" model. PS3 Slim models have labels indicating localized input requirements for power (110V 60 Hz for North American and Japanese models and 220-240V 50 Hz for European and Australian models), however teardowns have revealed the power supplies are still universal" and here is the source and PlayStation 3 Slim Teardown so hope this will set your mind at ease. Good Luck and may the force be with you ;-)
Hello Friends! I'm writing this note to save you all from tearing down your PS3 and voiding the warranty! After reading about over 100 posts, here is my experience on using a PS3 Slim (320GB, CECH2501B, US model) in India. Today (July 2nd, 2011) after waiting for a month, I connected my console to the 220v wall plug. Unfortunately, for my own peace of mind, I had to open the console and check the power supply intake. For the above said model, the power supply supports 100-240V power. I have setup my PS3 successfully and have played the games over the weekend. Believe me it was a great relief and joy after waiting for a month. Please check the attached images too. Enjoy and have fun! Regards, Ravi
