Where are the magnets for the Smart Covers?

You find the magnets for the Smart Covers during teardown? Apple says they just "snap into alignment," which would lead me to believe there's magnets on both the Smart Cover as well as the inside of the iPad 2. Another thing I was curious about regarding the Smart Covers- if the magnets touch the display, would it not cause it to demagnetize and damage it? And would it not have any affect on the flash memory inside the iPad 2?

I did not see the magnets anywhere during the tear down effort. Did I just miss it or is that for another article??

Use a bent open paperclip and pass it over the edges to locate the magnets. The magnetic charge is not enough to effect the memory.

Ok, cool thanks. Do the magnets affect the display, or is that just a concern from the old school monitors?

magnets are an issue with old CRT displays because they mis-align the electron gun, causing funny color issues. I don't think there are any issues with magnets and newer flat panel type displays.
