Charger will not stay connected

My original Mac charger will only work if I wiggle the charger and hold it in the port a certain way. The orange light still turns on, but I can rarely manage to hold the charger steady and operate the computer longer than a few minutes. This has only been happening the past couple of months, and I've had the computer and charger for about 5 years.

Do I just need a new charger, or is this a problem with the port? If it's the port, how do I fix it?

See if the ring around the exterior of the power plugin has been open, thus preventing a tight connection. This can be squeesed back to fit tightly again.

If it isn't the charger, you are looking at a new DC-in board. Follow this guide to replace it.

This part is going to be hard to find, and you may be better off replacing the iBook altogether if you cannot easily find a replacement. You will have to look at used parts, since any new stock for this board is long gone.
