What would be the max. HD capacity when replacing internal drive?

History

I want to upgrade the internal hard drive. It appears to be a 30 gb . How large can I go as far as storage and the ibook still recognize it? Also what type of drive should I be looking for. Example " ATA 2.5 inch"..

Without jumping through hoops to get it formated, you should stay under 128GB. An ATA or IDE drive will work fine. Just stay away from the SATA drives. This drive will work just fine for you: 80 GB 9.5mm ATA Hard Drive

Here's a bunch of new IDE drives up to 320GB that will work for you: http://eshop.macsales.com/Search/Search....|0&N=6885
