Why does my iBook fail to boot?

History

How does the iBook internal clock continue to operate when AC power is disconnected? Does the iBook have a CMOS battery backup? My G4 desktop Mac will not start when the internal clock battery is dead. Could this be the reason that my iBook is not booting?

Please advise.

There is no CMOS (PRAM) battery in your machine.

Reset the PMU

Unplug the computer's power cord.

Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.

Release the power button.

Attach the computers power cable.

Press the power button to turn on the computer.
