Relaced the battery on an iPod mini no sound when docked
I replaced the battery on an iPod mini. When I dock it on the newest Bose Sound Dock I don't get any sound, when I dock it on an ihome player or my old Bose Dock it plays fine. I get sound from the headphone jack fine. Also the cable that goes from the mini to USB on the computer is fine.
I'm stumped.

Thanks for all your help. I did reset the iPod - a few times :) I also restored it back to factory setting and updated it. No change.
I finally gave up and gave it back to her.
hmmm - i miss one information - did it work on the new bose sound dock before you changed the battery ?? - does the mini react in any way when you connect it to the sonddock ?
markus weiher,
Yes it did.
Bonnie,
Right now I'm running the battery down to see if it charges on the new Bose Dock.
Bonnie,
I meant to say that yes it did work on the new Bost Dock before I changed the battery.
Bonnie,
The new Bose Dock does charge the iPod.
Bonnie,
it's positive that the mini get charged in the new dock. but it still makes no sense to me why it works on the other docks and not on this one. i would check the dock connector for dust, maybe clean it with a paintbrush and so on. it's hard to tell what the problem could be. the battery replacement on the mini is almost easy (compared with the nanos), was there any problem while you changed the battery ?
markus weiher,
It's not just the one new Bose Dock that it doesn't play on it's two different ones. My own and the owner of the iPod mini. I didn't have any problem changing the battery. I've done it before and haven't had any issues. My husband thinks I should check the problematic iPod to see if it needs a system update. Maybe there's a firmware change that will resolve this. I am truly stumped. This is what I get for helping out a friend :o(
Bonnie,
did you try to reset the iPod ? press and hold the menu and select button until the iPod restarts
