  • Answer to: part divice effect Soldering

nothing to solder there - it's an emi shield - the phone would even work without that shield (but that would not the best idea)
  • Answer to: Headphone jack doesn't work and volume buttons dont function?

open the phone and check the connector from the headphone jack assembly - sometimes it's not properly seated. but it could be damaged too i would check the resistors near the connector on the logicboard - had a few phones with broken resistors! (would that check before you order a new assembly) replacing the plastic case is easy if you already stripped almost everything - but as i mentioned earlier - try to get it fixed first and then order parts - they are too expensive - especially when the rest wont work....
  • Answer to: Touchscreen wont respond when I try to unlock phone...?

hi matt, i would use the motherboard guide (click) and check all the connections inside the phone - most likely is a connection poped out of the socket - but it's also possible that the soldering of a chip got damaged - but as i said - check the connections first - good luck
  • Answer to: How to upgrade firmware

that's easy - get samsung kies here: CLICK ME install it, run it, connect the phone and kies will install the upgrade
  • Answer to: ps3 still in ylod

do you have a crappy/dead motherboard to make a few test? if so, use that to determine the time/heat/ distance you would need to melt the solder. usse the dead board, point the heat gun on some smaller parts, watch the solder - when it looks more "shiny" - it should be molten (don't forget to keep an eye on the time it took to melt!) - then go to the next part - a bga ic - there should be a few on a common motherboad - make the same thing - but you won't see anything whats under the ic - but you should keep an eye on the surrounding parts (shiny!) - in case of a dead board - you could also try to "move" the ic a little bit (way less than a mm!!) - if the solder is molten - it should move slightly (don't try that on a board that should be repaired - it would most likely kill it) - same thing as before - keep an eye on the time! - now you sould be able to determine the heat an the time it would take to reflow the chip on the ps3. i always use soldering flux for those kind of repair! good luck
