Where did my hard drive go?

History

Yesterday I was using my PowerBook g3, and when i restarted, it could not find the heard drive. It could boot into a GUI phase, with a floppy disk and a flashing question mark. Any help?

What OS is it running and what is the latest install disk version you have?

rab777hp,

Actually, I found the root of all evil, being that it cannot find the hard drive for booting. How do i do that?

Here's the procedure for replacing the drive: Installing PowerBook G3 Wallstreet Hard Drive

The Wallstreet originally came with a : 2, 4, or 8 GB EIDE hard drive.

You can go up to a 128 GB drive with no problem. Just remember to get an EIDE drive.

Try booting with the restore DVD (or CD) that came with your computer and boot off of it. Then proceed to go to Disk Utility and see if your HDD is still there. If its there, its most likely corrupt, and you should do a Repair Disk command, but most likely its a goner so you want to buy a new HDD from ifixit or newegg.
