Update hard drive on my MacBook Pro Mac OS X

Have heard of SSE modern/faster hard drives that can be installed on an old Macbook pro How viable is this please and where can I source the relevant hard drive?

Hi Bill, Which MacBook Pro are you working on? If you can provide a serial number that is best. Are you looking at a SSD?
