IPad USB not reconized

Hi,

I own an IPAD 1.

I can charge it on mains but not on PC.

Either, the IPAD is not reconized by the conputer ou ITunes.

I tried the recovery mode but it doesn't work.

I tried to STOP/START the Apple service ... no fix ...

Could you halp me ?

New charging port received and replaced.

Everything works fine.

That was the issue ... many many thanks for your help !!!!!

The dock connector needs to be replaced. Despite looking fine, it has failed. This is very common on first gen iPads.

Many thanks. Is it easy to remove safely the IPAD 1 screen without breaking it ? I tried on an IPAD 2 ... and the screen break ... Best regards

Outch, IPAD 1st dock connector is the most expenseive connector ever seen ...

Easy? No. Possible? Yes. Different than iPad 2, you're removing the screen+mid frame as an assembly. Expect to break the metal clips. If you start at bottom right edge and free the plastic tabs on that side all the way to top right corner, then break and free the metal clips along bottom, you should have enough room to pull out the left side and top without breaking more metal clips. Then transfer a couple clips to bottom for reinstall.

Yes, dock connector is about 25 bucks last time I bought one.

inspect the charging port if even one pin is missing or bent it can cause the device not to be recognised by a computer. If a pin is missing or ben you will need to get the charging port replaced

The charging port seems fine. I cleaned it with a toothbruch.

The screen on the ipad 1 is held in by brackets on the frame so the frame and LCD will come out with it be gentle and patient and you will be fine :)
