Replaced lcd lost functions

Hi, I posted under the 2012 model section but am

Getting very little response, I know the models are similar so here's my question

Hi,

My Ipad 2 2012 got pretty smashed up, i dismantled and the parts i needed were digitiser, lcd screen, power flex ribbon and headphone jack ribbon (runs from power flex and goes into logic board)

I have put it together and tested it and with the ipad plugged in i can see the backlight, i can also see it working when i try sticking it in dfu mode and recovery mode.

restores will not work as i keep getting errors (21,3194,3004) but it is being recognised by itunes.

does this sound like a hardware issue or software issue?

Hardware.

I would be concerned about motherboard damage if the ipad had damage so severe as to warrant the replacement of the parts you listed.

If you don't see the apple logo, but it is recognized by iTunes, I would start testing for continuity at the tiny square filters next to the LCD connector.

Thanks Jessa, I'm worried I might have spent the money on these parts and it's not fixable, but those parts only damaged on the corner where the power button is, connections just ripped off. What would be the best way of excluding motherboard damage?

I would look at the LCD connector itself---is it missing its black latch? Is it damaged at all, pulling up, missing any of its little metal keys?

If it looks intact, I would look under magnification for damage around the connector. Feel free to post a picture and we may have more advice.

jessa, i added images of the lcd connecters on both lcd and motherboard, i also stuck a pic up of the replaced power flex cable just incase you can see a problem there. if you need any more detail get back to me, cheers :)

Make sure that your computer has a stable internet connection and download the latest iOS software for your ipad. There is NO WAY that you can install older versions into it.
