Power Button Broken

History

My Power Button doesen't seem to do anything since yesterday. I restored today, thinking of a software problem, without a result. I then examined my iPhone noticing the power button is slighly pushed into the shell. I then succeeded locking my iphone by really pushing it hard with my fingernail. No satisfying solution for me.

Anyone else got this issue? Would accessing the power button from inside help?

I have the exact same issue! No resolve as of yet. it sure eats battery life noe that the screen stays on....

iPhone 3g and 3GS power button always got damaged where the upper right part of the systemboard touches one of the traces of the power button flex whit the time and movement thin signal trace got damaged and cut.

you can replace it for like $10 yourself or if youre low on money can solder the trace that its cut, just need some patience, low heat iron and a steady hand.

And also if the phone is off, just plug it in and it should start, try also with usb cable. Fot the power button fix, well just press hard on upper right side of the phone, where the power button is and that should do the trick.
