Water damage Fixed? But battery will stop working after...

So the phone had minor water damage (Rainfall in my pocket whilst hiking seemed to be enough to kill the phone)

It actually still worked but heated up so much, so I turned it off and it never turned back on. So I correctly took it apart scrubbed the corrosion of the boards etc etc.

Now I buy a new battery, it works, it takes charge and working perfect. I turn the phone of and then it won't turn back on again? No current even going thu when charging as it dosent warm up like before.

Now the funny thing. I buy a new battery. It works it charges etc etc and the same again turn it off then it won't come back on....

I also just done this last night with another battery. I charged it to near enough full and now today it won't turn back on?

Im guessing the phone is some how affecting the battery seeing as all 3 tries have done the same thing.

Any one seen this before or have any suggestions because Im clueless

sounds like you are suffering from the post-water damage "fake charging" problem---the battery isn't really charging, it just tells you that it is.

you could try putting one of the batteries into a different phone--it will probably read 1%--then charge it up and return it to this phone.

The solution to this problem could be to replace the charging coil on the motherboard, but given your description of the heat---that may have damaged the PMIC which could also be responsible for your fake charging problem. Also scan the board around the area of the dock connector to look for any missed corrosion or damaged components that could also cause fake charging.

I would suspect that there is corrosion causing a short in the battery connector on the logic board. Check it with a magnifying glass and really bright light.
