did you try to reset it ?

does it show a menu ?

i've read somethig about a blown fuse inside the tv

here is a guide to replace the fuse.

there are many problems with that tv set - they all have the same problem as yours

if your tv has a glow that means that all the boards are powered up. try replacing your logic control board. logic control board controls sound, picture and the osd menus.
