replacing the speaker would be almost easy - but i have not seen any of the speakers on the net

the problem is, that the pre is to loud and kills the speaker - so i would use the warranty to get this problem fixed

Markus, I have found a different brand speaker which matches the measurements of the pre's original speaker, instead of getting another pre, I am going to change this over myself, no point getting another pre when the speaker will blow again. I will take some photos and place it on here for people who want to try this.

Patrick,

I understand that - here is the guide

I had the speakers on two pres go out within two weeks of getting the phones. The problem is the speaker grill is located directly above the speaker and offers little protection against foreign objects. We work in a metal fabrication are and both phones collected metal shavings on the speaker which shorted out the speaker. It can be prevented by placing scotch tape over the grill, but sound and volume quality will be effected.
