Some keyboard keys no longer functioning!

Hi everyone,

My MBP was involved in a slight liquid spill.

Every other component works perfectly except for the keyboard. Certain keys do not work anymore.

I have seen a similar issue on old computers that I have restored: specifically ones with ribbon connectors. Usually cleaning the contact pads or ribbon helps a lot.

How do I remove the keyboard from the case in order to survey it?

Thanks

Dan

Sadly the keyboard is integrated with the upper case. This is the guide for getting the upper case off.

Thanks for your response! My advice to anyone else is thus "don't spill liquids onto your MBP"!

Follow the guide. Then clean your logic board and keyboard with 95-99% isoporpyl alcohol using a soft toothbrush. Then let it dry for at least 24hrs.

Ground yourself and please disconnect the battery (see the guide) before you mess around in there.
