continually searching with/without sim

History

Changed a kit on an iphone 4 three months ago...been fine....now all of a sudden it just says searching for a signal...doesnt recognise me taking sim out or putting it in...

Must be somebody clever out there who has the answer :)

Are you running ios 6?

this is a date/time error. Join your WLan with the iPhone or manually set the date/time. Remove the sim card and put it back into the phone. Now you can enter the sim-code.

you're the best man, i almost killed my iphone 4s today and thank God i found your post in time... it was just the date and time and now it's working...

I had same problem. I thought it was hardware and trying for days. I fixed the date and it is fixed. So simple and yet so difficult to find the solution. Brilliant solution from ifixit. thanx
