restart your computer message
I keep getting a popup message on the screen that reads
" You need to restart your computer, press the power bottom for several seconds or press the restart bottom"
I do it only to have the same message popup again seconds later.

Yeah kernel panic might be behind that because whenever the OS fails to recover from an error it shuts down to safeguard the system. Just think if you have install any recent software that might be troubling your system. Also run disk utility to check the file permissions and if needed repair them to avoid any future trouble. There are also other factors behind KP like a hardware incompatibility
