Tablet won’t turn on
Despite holding down the power button, the tablet just won’t turn on.
Damaged Screen
The tablet itself may be fine. A damaged screen will prevent the tablet from displaying anything. Check the screen for any damage. You can confirm this by turning on the volume and listening for sounds from the tablet.
Drained / bad battery
A drained, dead, or potentially damaged battery will not be able to power the tablet. First, try charging the tablet and make sure that both the cable and AC adapter work on other devices (if possible). If the charging works on other devices, then the problem may be the tablet battery.
Corrupted Software
Corrupted files may prevent the tablet from functioning properly. You can try to factory reset the tablet, but keep in mind that this will remove all files from the device. If the tablet functions normally after a factory reset, then the problem was corrupted software.
Faulty Logic Board
If all of the above don’t work, then something is wrong with the hardware.
The Screen is Off-Colored
When turned on, the screen is off-colored, distorted, or partially missing.
Loose Video Cable
A loose video cable connecting the screen to the logic board may be causing this problem, as the screen is not fully connected. Try opening up the tablet and re-plugging the video cable. If this doesn't solve the issue, the video cable may need to be replaced.
Bad Display
The Display may have been damaged over time, causing it to be unable to fully and/or properly function. If the video cable is not the issue, then the screen may need to be replaced.
Corrupted Software
An error in software may be causing issues with the screen’s ability to send a signal to the display. Try restarting the tablet; this may need to occur a couple times. If the screen is still off-colored or partially missing, and the screen and video cable are not the problem, then you may need to factory reset the tablet.
Tablet is stuck in Boot Loop
When turned on, the tablet is stuck on the loading screen.
Bad Battery
A Boot loop could be caused by a failing battery that is unable to hold a sufficient charge to fully turn on the tablet.
Faulty Logic Board
If all of the above don’t work, then something is wrong with the hardware.
Corrupted Software
A possible error in the software of the device might be causing this issue, try restarting your device and checking if this works. If not, a factory reset might be needed to fix the software issue.
Camera Won’t Turn On
When going to the camera mode on the tablet it goes to black screen.
Bad Camera
Over time the camera may wear down or have malfunctions. Cleaning the camera lens or checking if the camera has any debris inside of it is a good place to start.
Faulty/Loose Camera Connector
The wiring on the inside of the tablet may have been jostled free. A good way to check for this is by opening up the monitor using an iFixit toolkit. Prying off the screen is enough to check if the wiring is in good condition. If not, simply placing it back position is enough to fix the problem.
Faulty Logic Board
If neither of these fix the problem then it may simply be a fault logic board. In that case, replacing it is the only option.
Tablet audio is distorted
When using headphones with the tablet; there is a slight sound of static.
Damaged Audio Jack
Check the audio port for any possible damage to it. Worst case is you might need to replace the audio port if it is damaged.
Bad Headphones
If you are using headphones, then your headphones may not be functioning properly. Try a different set of headphones that you know work, or try your current headphones on a different device. If there is no distorted audio when using the new headphones, then your current pair is likely the source of the issue.
Faulty Logic Board
If all of the above don’t work, then something is wrong with the hardware.
Corrupted Software
A possible error in the software might make the audio not work, a restart of the device or a possible factory reset of the device might fix the audio.
