Device Not Turning On ¶ 

When the power button is pressed the device does not respond.

Phone Needs Charging ¶ 

Try plugging your phone in using the required charger, as it may have a critically low battery charge. Allow the phone to charge for approximately 30 minutes before attempting to turn it on. If the device is still unresponsive after this attempt, continue to the following step.

Dead Battery ¶ 

If charging the device does not work, the battery may be completely dead. If this is the case, follow the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G Battery Replacement guide to switch out the defected battery with a new one.

Bad Motherboard ¶ 

If you have replaced the battery and the device is still not turning on, you may need to replace the motherboard. Refer to the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G Motherboard Replacement guide.

Device Speakers Are Emitting Distorted Sound Or No Sound at All ¶ 

The device is powered on, however, the audio is not working properly.

Volume ¶ 

The volume on the phone may be turned down all of the way, or it may be placed at a low setting. This may cause the speakers to emit a low or muffled sound. Use the volume button on the side of the phone to increase the audio to a desired level.

Phone May be on Mute ¶ 

If the volume is increased to a desired setting and there is still no sound, go to settings and uncheck the mute setting.

Water Damage ¶ 

Water damage can cause the speakers on your device to act up. To check if there is indeed water damage, check the water damage indicator on the battery. For further instructions on reading the indicator and determining if there is water damage, proceed to the "Water Damage" section of the page.

Device is Frozen ¶ 

While using the device, it will remain powered on; however, it will not respond to any inputs the user attempts to make.

Restart Device ¶ 

In order to restart the phone, press and hold down on the power button until the device powers off. If this is of no use, try removing the battery using the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G Battery Replacement guide. Once this is done, put the battery back into place and attempt to power the phone on once again.

Bad Motherboard ¶ 

If the previous steps are ineffective, there may be an issue with the motherboard. In order to detach and replace the motherboard, follow the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G Motherboard Replacement guide.

Water Damage ¶ 

Water has entered the phone and is causing issues.

If the phone has been submerged in water, there may be a chance of water damage. In order to verify this, you will need to check the water damage indicator located on the battery. Follow the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G Battery Replacement guide in order to remove the battery. On the side of the battery there is a white strip with red x's. When the strip is clear and the x's are a bright red, there is no water damage. When water damage is present the x's will bleed to make the whole sticker light red/pink in appearance. Display Glass Shattered ¶ 

The phone's screen is visibly broken.

Screen Replacement ¶ 

In the instance of a broken screen, a screen replacement is a clear solution. Once you have purchased a new screen, refer to the following video to assist you in replacing the broken screen.
