- Memory card is not recognized
- Image is blurry
- Protective doors won't close
- Case leaks underwater
- Case fogs up
Camera will not charge/turn on ¶
The camera will not respond after pressing the “on” button.
Faulty battery ¶
Make sure that the battery is fully charged before attempting to power on the device. If that does not work, then consider replacing the battery.
Faulty power source ¶
If you are having this problem with one power source, try using a different one. For example, if you are using your laptop, try using a wall outlet. If that does not work, try using a backup battery charger.
If the issue cannot be resolved, contact Sony tech support.
Memory card is not recognized ¶
Memory card cannot be read by the device.
Incorrect card orientation ¶
Check that the memory card is inserted in the correct orientation.
Memory card is damaged ¶
The memory card may be damaged beyond the point of repair. If this is the case, replace the broken memory card with a new one.
Image is blurry ¶
Some users report a blurry image while filming underwater.
Underwater filming is causing blur ¶
This issue cannot be fixed because the design of the camera itself is the source of the problem. If you take underwater video footage frequently, consider looking into a different camera or case.
Protective doors won't close ¶
" Some users report the doors to the battery and the protective doors for the charging port and the memory card no longer close, or become detached from the device. "
Clasp on door, or attachment ribbon has become damaged ¶
Case leaks underwater ¶
While submerged, the case fills up with water.
Faulty rubber gasket ¶
The most likely cause of the case leaking is a faulty gasket. If there is any visible damage to the gasket, such as cracks, replace it. If there is not any apparent damage but the case is still leaking, it is possible that the gasket was not manufactured properly and needs to be replaced.
Plastic case is cracked ¶
If the clear, plastic case is cracked and allows water to enter, you may have to purchase a new plastic case.
Case fogs up ¶
The case fogs up when shooting, leading to blurry images and video.
Moisture buildup in case ¶
Before sealing the case, make sure all the moisture is removed. Try using a dry cloth to remove a majority of the water and let it air dry for a few minutes. If this fails to work, there is possibly a leak in the case as specified above.
