If the vibration function of your Sonic Bomb Jr stops working, it may be related to settings, wiring, or a defective vibrator motor. Follow this troubleshooting guide for possible solutions.
Vibration Feature Not Enabled
The vibration feature may be turned off.
- Verify that the vibration switch on the back of the clock is toggled “ON.”
- Ensure the vibration cord is firmly plugged into the correct port on the clock.
Cord or Port Issue
If the cord is damaged or not properly connected, the vibration unit will not activate.
- Inspect the cord for fraying, kinks, or cuts.
- Test the vibration unit by gently wiggling the cord near the connection port. If movement causes intermittent functionality, the cord or port is faulty.
Vibration Motor Failure
Over time, the small vibration motor inside the unit can wear out.
- If the motor is no longer spinning, the vibration unit may need to be replaced.
- Replacement vibration units are often sold separately and can be swapped in by plugging them into the clock’s designated port.
Internal Wiring or Power Issue
If the vibration feature still does not work after checking settings, cords, and the motor, the issue may lie in the clock’s internal wiring.
- This would require disassembly and inspection of internal connections.
- If under warranty, contacting Sonic Alert for repair or replacement is recommended.
