Samsung S27E510C Troubleshooting

Monitor does not come out of sleep mode ¶ 

Monitor is in sleep mode (black screen with blinking power LED), but does not turn on after moving mouse, pressing keys, or pressing power button.

Faulty Signal Cable ¶ 

Make sure the signal cable is not faulty by first trying the signal cable on another working monitor or trying a different signal cable on your Samsung SE27510C Monitor. If the signal cable doesn't work on another working monitor, or the other cable tested on your Samsung SE27510C Monitor seems to make it turn on, the cable is bad and must be replaced.

Out of date Graphics Card ¶ 

Check the graphics card manufacturer website related to the one being used in your computer for driver updates or use the built in software to see if there may be a driver update available.

Follow the link that relates to the kind of graphics card you have installed. Then follow the on screen instructions to identify your graphics card and install appropriate updates/drivers.

Windows out of Date ¶ 

Check to see if your windows operating system is up to date by following the link below:

On windows 10 you can check to see if it is up to date by going to

Windows button → settings → Update and security → Windows updates → check for updates.

Faulty Driver ¶ 

If none of the above attempts fixes your monitor, the driver/ firmware of the device may be out of date or corrupted. In order to download the appropriate software visit the following link:

From here, select TV as your product type. Then select “enter model number”. Enter the model number of your Samsung display, select your monitor when it appears below the search bar then proceed to scroll down until arriving at the product info tab and select "download" to the right of the downloads tab. There should be a single file called “Device(Install)” which is a 8.02 MB installation required for the monitor to function properly.

No Video Signal Detected ¶ 

Monitor displays an error message stating it cannot detect a video signal.

Incorrect Input Setting ¶ 

Make sure you are on the correct input setting. The monitor should display the current input setting upon switching to a new one. If the setting does not match the input cable you are using, change the input setting to the correct cable. In order to change the input settings of the monitor, use the JOG button located in the back. Press the JOG button once to bring up the function key guide. The looping arrows in the left square of the function key guide change the input setting. Move the JOG button to the left and press it in order to change your monitors input.

Cable is not plugged in ¶ 

Make sure your desired input cable is plugged into both your input device and the monitor. If not, plug the cable in and try again.

Faulty Signal Cable ¶ 

Make sure the signal cable is not faulty by first trying the signal cable on another working monitor or trying a different signal cable on your Samsung S27E510C Monitor. If the signal cable doesn't work on another working monitor, or the other cable tested on your Samsung S27E510C Monitor seems to make it turn on, the cable is bad and must be replaced.

Faulty Monitor Inputs ¶ 

If you have investigated the issues above and have no solution, you may have faulty monitor inputs. Visit the replacement guides for instructions on how to replace the input port corresponding to your desired input cable.

Audio Distortion ¶ 

The Samsung S27E510C model does not have built-in speakers. For sound with this model, it is necessary to use the computer speakers or external speakers.

Dead Pixel ¶ 

“Your monitor has one or more small dots that stay dark. These dots do not go away with different inputs or display material.”

Faulty Cable ¶ 

Examine your cable to determine if it’s damaged. Check the cord for signs of wear, such as fraying. If so, try a different cable. Also try your cable to see if it works on other monitors. If it does not work on another working monitor, your cable is likely faulty.

Faulty Display Screen ¶ 

If the dead pixels still persist in the display, the monitor will need to be serviced or replaced. If your monitor still has a warranty, visit Samsung’s warranty claim site to request a replacement:

HDMI/VGA Input Ports Don’t Work ¶ 

Your monitor doesn’t receiving signal from either the HDMI or VGA Cable inputs, or both.

Wrong Cable ¶ 

Ensure your cable is either an HDMI cable or a VGA cable, as the Samsung ‘S27E510C 27” Full HD Curved Monitor’ only accepts signals from these two cables. If your cable is Mini HDMI, DVI, or any other cable, you may need to purchase one of the supported cables or an adaptor with an HDMI or VGA head.

Faulty Cable ¶ 

Examine your cable to determine if it’s damaged. Check the cord for signs of wear, such as fraying. If the cord is intact, then check the plug of either the HDMI or VGA cable and ensure all the pins are intact, as it only takes one damaged pin to affect the signal. If the cable doesn’t show signs of wear, then test the cable by connecting it to another monitor or display, as it’s possible for the cable to be damaged internally. If the cable displays a signal on another monitor or display, and your drivers are up to date, either the input ports are defective or the motherboard may need to be replaced. Faulty HDMI/VGA Input Ports ¶ 

Inspect both input ports located on the back of the monitor to ensure there isn’t any debris blocking a successful connection. If there is any debris, clean the ports by using a can of compressed air. If you have installed the newest drivers and the monitor still doesn’t display a signal after connecting a cable to either or both of these ports, the input ports or the motherboard may need to be replaced. Faulty Motherboard ¶ 

If your Samsung ‘S27510C 27” Full HD Curved Monitor’ is updated with the latest software, your cables are working and supported by the monitor, and the ports on the monitor are clean, then the motherboard might be faulty. Even the introduction of the smallest foreign objects like rust, sand, insects, water, or static electricity can permanently damage a monitor’s motherboard. Monitor Does Not Power On ¶

Stuck Power Button ¶ 

In order to turn your monitor on, the jog button on the rear of the monitor must be pushed in. Press the power button to turn on the monitor. If the monitor does not turn on, press the power button again twice.

Power cord is not firmly connected ¶ 

Reach around to the rear of the monitor and ensure the cable is securely connected. If the power cord is connected at the back of the monitor then verify that the cord is plugged into the wall outlet. If the cord is not plugged into the outlet, plug the cord into the outlet.

The outlet/surge protector does not have power ¶ 

Plug a different device into the outlet to verify the outlet has power. If the monitor is plugged into a surge protector, ensure the toggle switch is turned to the “on” position. Or try plugging the monitor directly into the wall. Refer to the troubleshooting guide for your surge protector for further information. If the outlet does not have power refer to a troubleshooting guide for restoring power to the outlet.

Faulty Power Cord ¶ 

The power cord may be faulty. Similar to previous examples, try using the power cord on another monitor that is known to function properly. If the power cord does not work on the functioning monitor, your cord is faulty and must be replaced.
