Samsung NX1 Troubleshooting

Released in September 2014, the Samsung NX1 is a smart camera that utilizes the unconventional mirrorless lens system.

Camera Will Not Turn On ¶

LCD screen and camera do not respond when the power button is switched from off to on.

Battery Is Dead ¶

Remove the battery from the compartment on the bottom of the camera and charge it in its charging unit. Full charge is reached after at least one hour.

Battery Is Inserted Incorrectly ¶

Battery does not need to be forced into place. The blue tab should slide into a groove that holds the battery in place on the negative-positive side of the battery.

Battery Is Old ¶

When batteries do not hold a significant charge anymore, a new battery needs to be purchased.

LCD Screen Is Broken ¶

If the screen remains black and unresponsive consider a screen repair.

Battery Cover Does Not Close ¶

Battery door remains open, exposing the batteries so that they may fall out.

Wrong Battery ¶

The battery does not match the Samsung NX1 camera. Read the battery label to make sure you have the appropriate battery type.

Battery Is Inserted Incorrectly ¶

Battery does not need to be forced into place. The blue tab should slide into a groove that holds the battery in place on the negative-positive side of the battery.

Battery Is Not Fully Inserted ¶

You must push the battery all the way down, so that the spring is compressed, and the blue tab locks the battery into place.

LCD Screen Will Not Turn On ¶

LCD screen is completely dark or the image is hard to see.

Battery Is Dead ¶

Remove the battery from the compartment on the bottom of the camera and charge it in its charging unit. Full charge is reached after at least one hour.

LCD Screen Brightness ¶

Use the auto settings to adjust the screen brightness or use the brightness button located below the screen on the top right of the camera to make the display brighter.

LCD Screen Is Detached from the Camera ¶

Check the connecting cable on the underside of the screen to make sure that it is attached and not damaged. If it is damaged, consider a cable repair.

LCD Screen Is Broken ¶

If you see a visible crack or a rainbow tint on the LCD screen, consider a screen repair.

Camera Will Not Autofocus ¶

Images taken are blurry.

Camera Is in a Different Setting ¶

Use the dial on the top right side of the camera to change the setting to AUTO. Push the button in the center of the dial to lock the setting dial in place.

Shutter Button Is Pushed Too Quickly ¶

When taking a photograph push the shutter button down halfway and allow a brief moment for the camera to focus before continuing to push the shutter button all the way down.

Wrong Lens Attached ¶

If you have a long lens on the camera and the subject of your photograph is within close proximity, you may not be able to zoom out the lens enough for the camera to focus. Try a shorter or macro lens.

Camera Flash Does Not Work ¶

The flash will not fire when you want it to.

Flash Setting Is Not On ¶

Push the flash button located on the front left side of the flash, so that the flashbulb pops up.

Battery Is Low ¶

Remove the battery from the compartment on the bottom of the camera and charge it in its charging unit. Full charge is reached after at least one hour. The flash will not fire if the camera’s batteries do not have a sufficient charge.

Flashbulb Is Burned Out ¶

Check the bulb for visible damage. If the bulb does not fire at all, consider a repair.

Flash Release Is Not Working ¶

The release for the flash may be jammed or broken. If the flash button does not open the flash, consider a repair.
