Polaroid PTAB7XC Troubleshooting

A 7" tablet released in 2012 by Polaroid.

Tablet won't turn on ¶ 

No matter what you do, you can't get your tablet to turn on.

Drained/bad battery ¶ 

If your tablet won't turn on, you may simply have a drained battery. Plug it in to a power source and charge it. If the tablet will no longer charge, the battery must be replaced. Find instructions for replacing the battery here.

Faulty Charger/USB Port ¶ 

It is possible that the charger port is either loose or dirty and the power from the power source is not arriving to battery when the device is plugged in. Before taking apart the tablet, attempt to clean the port. If the charger still appears to be faulty, it is likely that it will need to be tightened or replaced. Find instructions for replacing the USB port here.

Loose Power Button ¶ 

If the tablet responds to a charge yet will not turn on, the problem most likely lies within the power button itself. Check to see if the power button feels loose if so, it will need to be tightened or replaced. Find instructions for replacing the power button here.

Bad Motherboard ¶ 

If the tablet refuses to turn on, the problem could lie within the motherboard. Find instructions for replacing the motherboard here.

Tablet won't respond to other devices ¶ 

When thumb-drives, external keyboards etc, are plugged into the tablet, there is no response .

Faulty Charger/USB Port ¶ 

It is possible that the charger port is either loose or dirty and the information from the external device is not arriving to the motherboard when the device is plugged in. Before taking apart the tablet, attempt to clean the port. If the charger still appears to be faulty, it is likely that it will need to be tightened or replaced. Bad Motherboard ¶ 

If the tablet refuses to recognize external devices, the problem could lie within the motherboard. Find instructions for replacing the motherboard here.

Tablet screen won't respond ¶ 

When I tap my screen, no response occurs. However, the display continues to function.

Bad Touchscreen ¶ 

If the tablet screen does not respond to touch, it may be broken or connections are loose. The screen will likely have to be replaced or connections tightened. Find instructions for replacing the screen here.
