Haven't used that internal optical drive in a while? A simple way to increase your computer's storage capacity is to change out the optical drive for a hard drive or SSD. You can't plug a hard drive directly into the optical drive bay, but with the help of iFixit Dual Drive Enclosures you can! Need more space? Put in a massive 1 TB drive. Tired of waiting for programs to load? Add a blazing-fast SSD. Keep forgetting to plug in your backup drive? Have an always-connected backup solution.

Use this page to find the correct enclosure for your laptop or computer.

Good news: we have a solution for many different machines. Bad news: you'll have to choose the right product, depending on the machine you have. But no fret, we made things simple!

  2. What interface does my computer's hard drive use? PATA or SATA?
