Olympus Stylus Tough-8010 Troubleshooting
The Olympus Stylus Tough-8010 is a waterproof point-and-shoot camera. It first came out in February 2010 in blue, black, and silver, and has since ceased production.
The camera will not turn on
The camera will not show any sign of powering up and gives no indication that it is on.
Faulty battery
If the battery will not charge or only holds a charge for a short period of time, then the battery is faulty. This can result from constant use and reuse. The camera uses Olympus LI50B / BLI339 / DLO50B batteries, which you will have to replace.
Battery isn't charged
If the camera is not turning on, then make sure the battery is charged. When charging the battery, make sure the battery is properly connected to the charger. If the battery will not charge, then the charger or battery may need to be replaced.
Battery isn't installed properly
If the camera is not turning on, then make sure the battery is inserted into the slot correctly. Make sure there is nothing in the battery slot that could obstruct the battery from resting in its housing correctly. Make sure you are installing it in the right direction.
Non-functioning motherboard
If there is not a battery problem, then there may be an issue with the motherboard. If there is a motherboard issue, then it will need to be replaced.
Faulty Display
The display is not turning on or is distorted.
LCD screen is not working
If the screen is not working properly, try rebooting the camera. If the screen continues to work improperly, or if the screen is cracked, then the screen will need to be replaced.
Poor picture quality
When the quality of a picture is too fuzzy, blurry, light, or dark, then usually the issue is the picture settings. Adjust the brightness and contrast settings to get the desired picture quality. Make sure the camera is in a fixed position when taking the picture.
Flash is not working
The camera's flash will not go off.
The setting is wrong
Check the flash setting and make sure the flash is turned on.
Low battery
If the battery is low, the flash may not go off. Replace the camera's battery and try using the flash again.
Broken flash component
If the flash is turned on and the battery is fully charged, and the flash continues to fail, then it will need to be replaced.
Piece of camera missing
The lens frame has fallen off or has become loose
The lens frame is the plastic piece around the lens of the camera. If the lens frame is loose or has fallen off due to external forces, the waterproof capabilities of the camera are compromised. Should this happen, then the frame must be glued back on. Make sure the glue forms a watertight seal around the lens before using the device underwater. Avoid getting glue on the lens of the camera or the camera's functions will be affected. If the lens frame cannot be reattached, the camera will still function normally, but it will lose all waterproof capabilities.
The side panel is broken
The side panel gives the user access to the battery slot, Micro USB port, SD card port, and the AV port. If the side panel is loose or the locking mechanism does not work, then the camera will lose its waterproofing capabilities.

When I turn camera on , the lite stays on then you can't turn it on or off. I take the battery out and put it back in sometimes that helps and sometimes it doesn't. Then it will take pictures for a while then . Starts the same thing over?
Do you think it's the battery?
