Nokia 2660 Flip Battery Not Charging
The battery of your Nokia 2660 Flip won't charge. Follow these steps to replace the battery.
Natural Battery Aging
Batteries' natural age and wear out over time. You'll notice a shorter battery life even with light use. Some things that can contribute to increased battery wear are: overcharging or constant charging, poor charging habits, such as letting the battery drop to zero. This symptom is normal and unavoidable, as well as the most common symptom. Troubleshooting this includes charging your Nokia for around 30 minutes to gain a acceptable battery life, then see how long the battery percentage lasts. But if the battery drains really fast then it is recommended to just replace the battery and reset the Nokia after reinserting the new battery.
Charger Port
Excessive charging of the Nokia can potentially damage the charger port and even lead to your battery's life being shorter. Even daily use of our phones can cause debris to go into the charging port and prevent your phone from charging. Another factor can be the charging wire you use maybe damaged or simply just needs to be replaced. To fix these issues you can use a brush or blow air into the charging port to remove any debris from the charging port. Also replacing the charging wire with a new one that can be found for cheap prices across the internet. Lastly as a precaution be sure not to overcharge the Nokia and when inserting your charging cable gently plug the phone in and not violently plug it in.
Extreme Temperatures
Leaving your phone in extreme heat or cold is a big battery killer. Heat exposure, such as leaving it in your car, charging in a warm environment, or using your phone while charging, accelerates the chemical breakdown inside the battery. Cold temperatures don't permanently damage the battery as quickly as heat does, but they can cause sudden shutdowns and make the battery appear "dead." Repeated exposure can still degrade performance over time. If you fall into this bracket of leaving your Nokia and especially the battery out in extreme temperature environments it is highly recommended to replace the battery.
Physical Damage
A battery might need replacing if the phone's back cover bulges, the battery looks swollen, or the phone gets unusually hot. This is a safety issue, and you should replace the battery immediately. In order to do this remove the rear casing with your fingernail or tool. Then quickly remove the battery making sure the battery port is clean, and the battery itself didn't leak anything. If this is the case then safely dispose and buy a new Nokia. Inhaling or making contact with the liquid or debris from the battery could be lethal. But if the battery is just "warped" or just won't turn on just simply remove the battery from the rear and replace it with a new one, then secure the rear casing, also be sure to reset your phone after inserting the new battery, and your Nokia should be good to go!
