Lapdock Not Powering On
The Lapdock will not turn on when plugged in to a power source.
Defective Charging Port
If the lapdock and phone are connected and the lapdock is connected to a functional power source, the lapdock should power on. If the lapdock does not power on and there is power being routed through the power cord, then the charging circuit may be damaged.
Non working power Cord
If the power cord is connected to the lapdock and the power source is functioning correctly, then the lapdock should power on. If the cord is not supplying power and/or not charging the battery, then the power cord must be replaced.
Display Screen Not Visible
The lapdock is able to turn on but the screen is not showing any image or turning on.
Broken Screen Externally or Internally
If the lapdock is successfully powering on but the screen fails to display any images, then your screen might be burnt out or damaged. Consider replacing the screen display to fix this.
Phone Not Connecting To Lapdock
The lapdock is not showing the phone screen when the phone is plugged into the adapter.
If the lapdock fails to connect to the phone, then there may be an issue with the motherboard within the lapdock itself. If this is the case, then consider replacing the motherboard.
Faulty Phone Adapter Cable
If the phone is not able to connect to lapdock you should check to make sure that both the phone and the lapdock are connected properly. If they are and the lapdock is still not displaying the phone screen then the phone adapter cable may be faulty and must be replaced.
Short Battery Life
The battery dies very quickly or does not power the lapdock at all.
If you are having issues with the lapdock dying in a short amount of time or the lapdock dies when you unplug it from an alternate power source, you might consider replacing the battery. Over time the battery will lose charging capabilities and must be replaced.
Track Pad Unresponsive/Jumpy
The track pad is not moving your cursor or your screen is jumpy or uncontrollable.
Trackpad Internally Damaged
If the cursor is not responding or seems jumpy when trying to use the trackpad, you may need to clean it internally. You can do this by removing the keyboard cover and using a compressed air or cloth to clean the internal component of the trackpad to remove dust or any dirt that may be causing the problem.
If you have tried cleaning the trackpad and you are still having problems then you may consider replacing the trackpad completely.
There is no sound even with the volume is turned up.
If there is no sound coming out of the speakers and your settings have audio on then you may need consider replacing the speakers in the lapdock.
Keyboard Not Working Properly
The keyboard does not work or certain keys do not respond when pressed.
Keys cannot be pressed
When keys can't be pressed, there may be something below the physical key holding it up. To fix this, remove the key and make sure nothing is stuck below it. You may need to wipe off the area underneath. Once it is sufficiently clean, snap the key back into position.
