Motorola Buzz ic502 Troubleshooting
Released 2007, identification number is ic502.
Broken Screen ¶
The screen is not functioning or displaying properly.
Display Issues ¶
The causes of this may be a disconnected, or broken screen, or the phone needs to be reset. Turn phone off, remove battery for 5 minutes, replace battery, and turn phone back on. Check Screen connection, or replace screen using this guide screen and speaker repair guide.
Damaged Antenna ¶
The Antenna is disabled to the point of not functioning or not returning to its rest position.
Bent Antenna ¶
Causes for this may be that the antenna is damaged or is defective. First, check the connection strength. If there is still a connection, the antenna is still functioning. If antenna is still working/receiving, carefully try to realign the antenna otherwise replace the part using this guide Antenna guide.
Battery Won’t Charge ¶
Battery will not increase in charge when plugged in.
Charger issue ¶
Causes for this may be that the charging port, the charger, or the outlet may not be functioning properly. Check that the charger is fully plugged into the wall and into the charging port on phone. Try a different wall port. Find another charger for the phone that definitely works. Make sure the new charger is fully plugged into both wall and phone.
Battery issue ¶
Causes for this may be that the battery may be missing, not fully connected, or damaged. Check to make sure the battery is correctly installed into the phone. Remove and replace the battery. Turn your phone off, remove the battery for 5 minutes, then replace and power phone on. Replace battery with new battery using this guide Battery replacement guide.
SIM card issues ¶
Phone does not recognize SIM card in place.
SIM card not found ¶
Causes for this may be that the SIM card is missing, the SIM card is incorrectly placed in the phone, or the SIM card is damaged. Check if SIM card is in the SIM card slot in back of phone. Check if Lithium Ion connection is facing down into the back of the phone. Make sure the SIM card is fully in place. Remove SIM card, without touching Lithium Ion connection, restart phone, and carefully replace SIM card using this guide SIM card guide.
Sound Issues ¶
Poor quality audio, or none at all.
Distorted Audio ¶
If the audio is playing unevenly or choppy, which can be due to an OS glitch, partially disconnected or a defective speaker. First, try restarting the device. If this has no result, try playing audio through a different application on the phone.
No Sound ¶
There may be no sound because of an OS glitch, or a broken speaker. First, make sure the volume is turned up all the way by using the volume buttons on the side of the phone. Try restarting the phone. If that does not work, replace the speakers using this guide screen and speaker repair guide.
