Lenovo 100e Chromebook Gen 4 Keyboard is Unresponsive

The Chromebook's keyboard doesn't register input or the keys are sticking in place.

If your keyboard inputs incorrectly, or not at all, the keyboard hardware may need resetting.
Restart the Chromebook and make sure your system is up to date.
You may lose some files in your Downloads folder, so back up anything you want to save.
1. Make sure the device is powered off.
2. Press and hold the Refresh Key, then press the Power Key.
3. When the Chromebook boots up, release the Refresh Key.
If the hardware reset does not work, consider performing a Powerwash. This will reset your Chromebook to factory settings.
1. Back up any files you wish to save to another storage device.
2. Make sure you are signed out of your Chromebook.
3. Press and hold Control + Alt + Shift + R.
4. Select Restart.
5. Select Powerwash, then Continue.
If the steps above do not work, consider replacing the keyboard module.

If your keys are sticking you may need to clean around the keys to allow proper use.
Make sure the Chromebook is turned off.
Try to use compressed air or a soft brush to clean around the sticking key.
If it still sticks, remove the key from the keyboard and clean under it.
If after cleaning the key is still sticking, consider replacing the keyboard.

If your keyboard looks good and all of the keys work, then check that the keyboard cable isn't unplugged or damaged.
Follow our replacement guide until step 2 and check if the cable is connected properly.
If the keyboard cable is undamaged and connected, and the keyboard still doesn't work, then consider replacing it.
