Fan won't turn on
No matter what you do, you can't get your fan to turn on.
Fan is plugged in and turned on
Before jumping the gun and buying a new motor, make sure the fan is plugged into a working electrical outlet. You can test the outlet by plugging in another device that you know works and seeing if the outlet is indeed the problem. Also, make sure the fan is turned to the 'on' position.
Motor dead
If the motor is the problem, it will have to be replaced. Guide to replace motor
Blades won't spin
Clean dirty blades
Check to see if the blades have something blocking them from moving, such as dust or hair built up around the moving parts.
Fan will not stay at tilted position
Tighten knob
When your fan will not stay put in the desired angle, the solution may be as simple as tightening the white, plastic knob on the side of the fan, located where the stand meets the actual fan.
