Jitterbug Flip2 Keypad Unresponsive

Jitterbug Flip2 keypad buttons inputs not registering or are stuck in place.

Dirt or grime stuck in the keypad

  • Gently wipe the keypad with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dirt or grime particles stuck between the keys.
  • If there is more stubborn grime, carefully use a toothbrush or wooden/plastic toothpick to clean the keypad.
  • Do not use metal objects like paperclips or liquids to attempt to clean the keypad, as this can cause further damage.

Check for damaged or stuck-in-place buttons

  • Gently press down each button to see if it clicks.
  • Press each button while the phone is on to test if there is a response from the phone.
  • If buttons are stuck in place, professional repair may be needed.
  • If buttons are not stuck, but the screen does not show a response, the phone may have a software glitch and require a factory reset or power cycle

How to power cycle

  1. Turn the phone off by holding down the power button until the screen turns black
  2. Slide off the battery cover on the back and remove the battery
  3. Place the battery back in place and hold down the power button until the phone turns back on

How to factory reset

  1. Ensure the phone is powered off
  2. Press and hold the Volume Down and Power buttons
  3. When the reset menu pops up, navigate using volume buttons and select wipe data/factory reset
  4. Confirm reset
  5. The phone will automatically reboot

Important

If possible, back up all data on the phone (contacts, messages, photos, and settings changes). Doing a factory reset of the phone erases all data that is not saved.
