The Jensen 3 Speed Stereo Turntable with Built-In Speakers and Speed Adjustment. The model number is JTA-230.
- Audio is Distorted
- Won't play record
- Failure to turn on
- Controls not responding
- Won't stop playing
Sound is choppy or unclear
When the volume is set to high the speakers reach their maximum capacity causing distortion to the sound. In order to resolve the issue, simply turn down the volume control knob to a level where the sound is coming out loud yet clear.
When the tone is set too high or too low the pitch and quality of the sound will be distorted. In order to fix this, play with the tone knob to find the best setting.
The Tone Arm is composed of a cartridge and a stylus that touch the record to create the sounds. A broken cartridge or stylus will cause the record to skip beats, scratch the records, and ultimately distort the sound. Making sure the pieces are intact, then Dissemblance and replacing of the pieces will fix the distorted audio issue.
Audio is not complying with record used
If the turntable won't spin, parts are probably broken within the record player. In order to fix this problem, disassemble the record player and identify the broken or damaged piece of the record player. Remove the broken piece and replace it with a new one. Doing this will allow the turntable to spin again.
The stylus reads grooves in a vinyl record, and by doing so converts vibrations into electrical signals which can be converted into sound. If the stylus is broken, the record will not be played. In order to fix this, the pieces that make up the stylus will have to be replaced. Doing this will fix the problem.
Stereo Turntable wont power on
If the power cord is broken, the record will not be able to turn on even when plugged in. To fix this, simply replace the power cord, by buying a cord that fits the port on the record player. Doing this will fix the problem, and allow the device to function properly.
If the battery is broken, it needs to be properly removed and replaced. When getting, the battery make sure it is compatible with the JTA-230 model. Doing this will fix the problems with the device not turning on.
Some buttons not working/responding on device
If there is a loose wire, the device needs to be taken apart. Attempt to re-position the wire so the connection is good again. If it is just loose, re-positioning it should fix the issue. If this doesn't work, the wire is faulty. The wire will need to be removed and replaced with a new wire so the connection will allow a function device.
If the knobs are broken/stuck/missing then they need to be replaced. Dissemblance and replacing the broken/missing knobs will fix the issue.
Device wont power down
If the power button is broken, it will need to be replaced. In order to do this, disassemble the record player, remove the broken button and replace it.
If the power button is stuck, the device won't be easily turned on or off. To fix this problem, the power button should be removed and examined for any possible debris that are causing it to become stuck. If the power button can't be unstuck, then replacing it with a new piece should fix the issue.
