Battery Drains too Quickly ¶

The phone does not power on or the battery drains after minimal use.

Faulty Battery ¶

If the device only powers on when connected to its charger, or the device drains in less than four hours of heavy use the battery is faulty and will require replacement. Use this guide to replace the battery.

Device Overheats ¶

The device randomly shuts off or becomes very hot during use.

Dust in the Device ¶

Electronics can overheat when dust clogs up ports and other areas that should be open in order to allow heat to escape. To fix this open the device and use a compressed air duster to remove any visible dust on the interior of the device.

Faulty Battery ¶

If the battery itself is hot and is heating up the rest of the device it may have a short between its positive and negative ends. Replace the battery using this guide.

Device Audio is Distorted ¶

Sounds from the device are difficult to hear or understand

Faulty Headphones ¶

The headphones you are using might be faulty. Check for frayed wires or damaged ear buds. Use electrical tape to cover and reconnect any loose wires. If the issue persists try using a different pair of headphones.

Faulty Speakers ¶

If the audio through the speakers sounds distorted the speakers might be obstructed or faulty. Remove any visible dust or debris from the speakers. If the distorted audio persists the speakers may be faulty and should be replaced using this guide.

Faulty Headphone Jack ¶

If the audio is only distorted when listening to the device through headphones then the audio jack or the headphones themselves may be faulty. Ensure that the audio jack is clear of dust and debris. Then try re inserting the headphones. If distortion persists, the audio jack may be faulty and should be replaced.

The Device is not Charging Properly ¶

The device charges slowly or not at all

Faulty Charger ¶

If the device is powered on when not connected to the charger, but wont charge when connected the problem may be the charger. First try charging from a different outlet or power source. If that doesn't work try using the charger to charge another compatible device if possible. If the problem still persists the charger itself may be faulty and should be replaced.

Faulty Battery ¶

Faulty Charging Port ¶

If the device battery is holding charge, and the charger is capable of charging other devices, then the HTC Amaze’s charging port might be the issue. First insure that the charging port is unobstructed and clear of all debris. If the device still does not charge consider replacing the charging port.

  • Power the device off and back on
  • Remove the battery and put it back in using this guide
  • Open the device in safe mode, this will cause it to run without 3rd party applications that may be causing the problem. To put the device in safe mode remove and reinsert the battery. Then hold down the volume down key and press the power button briefly until three android images are visible.
