HKC P886A Troubleshooting

Tablet Will Not Come Apart ¶ 

The tablet will not come apart or if the back panel can be removed, there are cables in the way.

Difficult Disassembly ¶ 

If the device is proving difficult to take apart refer to the overall disassembly guide.

Tablet Will Not Charge or Turn On ¶ 

The tablet fails to charge when connected to power cable or fails to hold a charge while unplugged.

Faulty/Frayed Power Cable ¶ 

Check to make sure that the device is connected to the power cable. If connected, the light on the front of the tablet should turn on. If the light fails to come on, then the adapter may be faulty and require to be [invalid guide link].

Faulty Battery ¶ 

If the device fails to power on, or only powers up when connected to a power cable, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. We suggest taking your device to a trained professional to have this done.

Tablet Doesn't Respond to Touch Commands ¶ 

The tablet is on, but is unresponsive

Damaged Matrix ¶ 

If the screen appears to be broken and can be physically felt from the outer screen then a replacement Matrix is need; or if the tablet fails to respond to any touch gestures. A broken matrix will often cause the display to not perform at all. Follow this guide to replace the matrix of your device.

Loose Connection ¶ 

Another possible cause for the tablet failing to respond to touch gesture is the Matrix may have a loose/bad connection to the CPU board. By having this loose/bad connection the data lines may not be connected causing the signals from the display to not reach the CPU. Simply follow this dissassembly guide to access the ribbon cables connecting the matrix to the CPU, check for a loose connection.

Screen Will Not Turn On ¶ 

The tablet will not power on, or display anything on the screen

No Power ¶ 

The device doesn't power on, often times when no power is present the screen will remain dark. When there is power but no image the LED back light will often illuminate the screen giving the appearance of being powered. If you suspect that the LED light is not working on your device, follow this guide to repair the LED light.

Loose Connection ¶ 

If there is no back light or the screen will not display any image. This can often be caused by a loose connection from the LCD screen to the CPU board. By having this loose connection either power or data line may not be connected causing the screen to fail. Simply follow this dissassembly guide to access the ribbon cables connecting the matrix to the CPU, check for a loose connection.

Broken Screen ¶ 

If the screen appears to be broken but cannot be physically felt from the outer screen then a replacement is in need. A broken screen will often cause the display to perform incorrectly and giving a bad image.Follow this guide to replace the matrix of your device.

Commands Are Sometimes Unresponsive or Spotty ¶ 

The tablet is occasionally or completely unresponsive.
