Student In Progress

This wiki is being worked on by hardworking students.

First Steps

Before opening the controller, try these quick checks first.

  • Charge the controller fully. When the battery is low, vibration may turn off to save power.
  • Make sure vibration is turned on in the game you are playing. Some games have their own vibration setting.
  • Check the controller’s vibration setting. The vibration may have been turned off or set to a low level by accident.
  • Turn the controller off and back on, then test it again.
  • Try the controller in a different game or on another device. This helps show if the problem is with the controller or with one game.
  • Reset the controller settings if changing the vibration setting does not help.

Low Battery or Vibration Setting Turned Off

The controller may not vibrate if its battery is low. Vibration can also be turned off in the controller settings.

  • Charge the controller until the charging light shows that it is full.
  • Check that vibration is enabled and set to a normal or strong level.
  • Test the vibration again after charging and changing the setting.
  • Adjust the vibration intensity by clicking the settings button between the screenshot and home button and the up button on the direction pad.
  • Adjust the vibration mode by clicking the settings button between the screenshot and home button and the down button on the direction pad.

Game or Device Settings

Sometimes the controller is working, but vibration is turned off in the game or on the device it is connected to.

  • Look through the game settings for vibration, rumble, or controller feedback.
  • Make sure vibration is turned on.
  • Try another game that normally uses vibration.
  • If the controller only does not vibrate on one device, reconnect or pair it with that device again.

Loose or Damaged Motor Connection

If the controller was dropped or opened before, the wire or connector for the vibration motor may be loose.

  • Open the controller using the appropriate teardown or replacement guide.
  • Disconnect the battery before touching any internal parts.
  • Check the vibration motor wires and connector for tears, loose connections, or damage.
  • Reconnect the motor securely and test the controller before putting it back together.

Failed Vibration Motor

The vibration motor itself may be worn out or damaged. This is more likely if the controller does not vibrate at all after the battery, settings, and connections have been checked.

  • Look for damage to the motor, such as broken wires or a loose housing.
  • Replace the vibration motor if it is damaged or does not work after reconnecting it.
  • Use the GuliKit KK3 Max NS39 Vibration Motor Replacement guide for the replacement steps.

Main Board Problem

If both vibration motors and their connections look good, the problem may be with the controller’s main board.

  • Check the board for liquid damage, corrosion, burned parts, or damaged connectors.
  • If there is visible board damage, replacing the vibration motor may not fix the problem.
  • Main board repair may require advanced tools and experience, so replacing the board or contacting GuliKit support may be the best option.
