This wiki is being worked on by hardworking students.

If the face buttons are unresponsive, try the following procedures to make them functional again.

Clearing Debris Around the GuliKit ES Face Buttons

Debris stuck inside the controller can clog the face buttons, causing them to become unresponsive when pressed repeatedly. It is best to use a tool to help clear the debris.

  1. Over time, debris can build up in the crevices around the face buttons of the GuliKit ES. Use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to clean around them and remove any residue that may be causing the buttons to stick.

Tools Required: Cleaning Products: Cotton Swabs | Isopropyl Alcohol

Power Cycling the GuliKit ES

Power cycling the controller will reset the hardware and processors in the device while also restoring communication channels for the buttons

  • Turn off the device completely by holding down the power button for 3 to 5 seconds until the light goes out.
  • Then, hold down the power button again until the light is fully illuminated, and try pressing one of the face buttons to verify if it is now responsive.

Tools Required: None

Updating the Firmware for the GuliKit ES

To update the firmware on your GuliKit ES controller, connect it to a PC via a USB cable and follow these steps:

(Please ensure the controller is completely powered off when completing this process.)

  1. Navigate to the GuliKit download page using a web browser on your PC and install the most recent firmware package.
  2. Unzip the downloaded folder on your computer.
  3. Please extract the file first; do not drag files directly from inside the compressed archive.
  4. Proceed by pressing and holding the settings button (gear icon), then press the home button to power on the controller and enter 'Update mode'.
  5. Copy the extracted .bin firmware file and paste it directly into the root directory of the GuliKit drive.
  6. The update will finish in a few seconds, and the controller will automatically power off as the “virtual drive” disappears.
  7. Parts Required: USB-C Cable || Laptop or Desktop Computer
