Control Stick Needs Calibration

Incorrect calibration can cause the controller to detect movement while the stick is centered. Recalibrate the control sticks using the GameSir calibration procedure and test the controller again. GameSir specifically recommends calibration when the G7 Pro experiences stick drift, an off-center stick, or stick malfunctions.

To recalibrate the control stick:

  • Press and hold View Button + Menu Button + XBOX button until the controller begins to slowly flash.
  • Make sure the L/R Triggers and L/R sticks are not being touched.
  • Press the A button and the XBOX indicator will turn off.
  • Press the L/R triggers to maximum distance 3 times.
  • Rotate the L/R sticks to their maximum angles 3 times.
  • Press the A button, a solid light on the XBOX symbol will indicate complete calibration.

Dead Zone is Too Small

A very small dead zone may cause tiny stick movements to register as input. Open the controller settings or supported GameSir software and slightly increase the dead-zone setting. Test the controller after each adjustment until unwanted movement stops.

To increase the dead zone on your controller:

  • Open the official GameSir Nexus App on your gaming console.
  • Select the profile that you are attempting to edit.
  • Go to the "stick configuration" section.
  • Find the "Initial Dead Zone" slider.
  • Increase the value by dragging the slider or typing a number into the provided box.
  • Save and sync the changes from your profile to the controller itself.

Debris is Interfering with the Control Stick

Dirt or debris around the base of the control stick may interfere with its movement. Turn the controller off and carefully clean around the stick while moving it in different directions.

  • Wipe the exterior with a damp microfiber cloth.
  • If needed, use a tiny amount of dish soap or 70% isopropyl alcohol with a damp microfiber cloth.
  • For textures, use a soft toothbrush to gently scrub grips, triggers, and buttons.
  • Let the controller air-dry completely before use.

Control Stick is Damaged

If calibration and cleaning do not fix the problem, the control stick assembly may be damaged. The controller may need to be disassembled and the affected control stick replaced.
