iFixit Driver Kit Bit Layout Templates
Our driver kits are designed to last a lifetime, and unfortunately, printed labels haven’t quite met our quality standards. That said, sometimes you need labels now, and not ten years from now—that’s where these handy templates come in.
Every driver kit, every bit. Perfect placement, legible text and icons. All you need is a printer, some paper, and a little elbow grease.
How to label your iFixit driver kit
Print the template. Toner-based ink will prevent smearing, and you can laminate it if you want to be extra waterproof.
Punch out the gray-colored bit cavities. If you’re in a hurry you can simply push the bit through the printer paper, but you might get some weird tear out. We recommend using a hobby knife to cut out the gray areas, but you can also use a hole punch, or even a computer controlled cutter if you’re fancy (just use the template as the cutting path—be sure to only cut the gray parts!).
Adhere the template to your driver kit foam. We recommend using a spray adhesive to attach the templates, but you can also use traditional glues, or even just pins if you want to preserve your foam gunk-free.
Not feeling these templates? Some clever fixers have used paint pens to trace the bit labels, and we think that’s pretty neat!

Thanks so much for sharing! I would love to use the file, but my Mako Set has a different (probably older) layout. Is there a place to download that layout as well?

Is there any chance you could provide these as vector instead of raster? If I'm going to cut the grey out then it helps if the edges are sharp instead of pixelated and fuzzy. At the moment I'm spending hours trying to re-create your work as vector drawing, but you must already have one or the foam itself could not have been embossed and cut.
I could post a small screenshot (if that was possible here) to illustrate what I mean.

Graeme, did you check the PDF files? Usually those are vector files and might work for your purpose.

At least, for the one I need and checked (Manta 112bits), the PDF is not vector.
I am planning to do a Vector and a 3D printable version (there is one on Makerworld, but it is not perfect since it forces a lot of color changes)
