Resolving i30 error code on AEG dishwashers by cleaning pressure switch duct
i30 error code means that anti-flood sensor was tripped, which meant that there is water in the bottom pad. There is a multitude of causes. This is a walk through of how how I diagnosed the problem with my AEG Favorit FFB62400PW and what was the fix in my case.
Anti-flood sensor is a little relay attached to a peace of polymeric foam. When if it floats, it raises i30 code and turns on the drain pump until you unplug the machine, it is not draining the water from the bottom pad. This is on you. People recommend to remove the side panels and tils the dishwasher 45 degrees to drain the water. Do not tilt backwards, because there is a bunch of electronics strapped to the bottom of the back panel.
While you have the machine open, look for a source of water, can be any of the hoses. I my case it was something completely different. After draining water, I hooked water intake and drain hose to see what us going on when its is running.
Since the bottom pad was dry, no error occurred at first, I started a cycle and after few minutes of water intake I was the source if the leak. It was 2 thin hoses designed specifically to drain water to the bottom pad if there is too much water in side the machine. So in a way water in the pad was by design. You can also see 2 sink holes inside the machine next to the door hinge.
So the machine failed to turn of the intake of water at the apocopate time, and tripped by flooding itself.
The problem was in Pressure Switch, no more specifically the duct leading to the sensor was clogged printing the sensor to work properly.
Pressure switch is on the components attached to water collector. I used big syringe with bendy tube, one normally used for hydraulic bike brakes, to clean out the clog.
I've removed the collector first, before attempting clean the duct (or even knowing about it) or removing the sensors, It might be possible to do it just by detaching and removing the sensor, but I'm not sure about that. Removing and installing back the water collector was an adventure.
In summary, the cause of i30 error code can be not only a leak but also the gunk in the water collector a.k.a. drainage of the dishwasher. Keep it clean.
